Supercharge Your Docketing with ProLaw Date Shortcuts!
Tired of tedious date entry? ProLaw’s got you covered with some seriously slick shortcuts that will have you docketing like a pro in no time! Forget counting days on a calendar or endlessly scrolling through dropdown menus. We’re talking about lightning-fast date entry using simple, intuitive commands.
Let’s say you need to enter today’s date. Just type “T” and boom! ProLaw instantly populates the field. It’s that easy. But the magic doesn’t stop there. Check out these time-saving tricks:
- “T”: Today’s date.
- “BOM”: First day of the current month.
- “EOM”: Last day of the current month.
- “Now”: Current date and time.
- “Wednesday”: Wednesday of this week (if before Wednesday) or next week (if after Wednesday). This works for all days of the week!
- “First”: Sunday of the current week. “Third” is Tuesday, and so on.
Now, let’s kick it up a notch with date calculations. These are perfect for those tricky situations where you need to calculate dates relative to today or other dates.
- “BD”: Business days.
- “Y”: Year.
- “M”: Month.
Imagine needing to schedule something one business day after today. Simply type “T+1BD” and ProLaw does the rest! Need to schedule a month out? “T+1M” is your friend. And no, these calculations not are case-insensitive, so “t-1m” works just as well!
You can even perform calculations based on specific dates. For example, “10/1/25+5bd” will calculate five business days after October 8, 2025. You can also use date formats without slashes: “020425-2m” works perfectly.

A few important notes:
- While you can add or subtract calendar days using terms like “eom+17” (for the 17th of next month), combining these with other advanced terms like “bd” won’t work (e.g., “eom+17bd” is not valid).
- Similarly, “Wednesday+1” works, but “Wednesday+1d” and “Wednesday+1bd” do not.
- Compound calculations like “t+14bd-1m” are also not supported.
With these date shortcuts, you’ll be navigating ProLaw’s date fields with speed and precision. Say goodbye to manual date calculations and hello to streamlined docketing!
